Rut game plan
- Set up high: call across lakes and bogs at first light.
- Cow first: 2–3 wails, then 30 minutes silent.
- Answer bulls: grunt back immediately, then rake brush.
- Stay put: bulls approach slowly. Give them an hour.
Best time to call moose?
Late September to mid-October, dawn and dusk.
Cow or bull call?
Start with cow wail. Switch to bull grunt only when a bull talks.
How far do moose hear?
Over a kilometer on calm mornings. You do not need max volume.
